Reese Larramendy started wrestling in Reno with the Northwest Knights club. At 14 she left home for Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, Pennsylvania. In July 2019, in Fargo, she won the 16U national title at 138 pounds with a 10-5 decision over Sara Sulejmani of Illinois. That same year she won the UWW U15 national title and took silver at the U15 World School Combat Games in Budapest. She left high school ranked first in the country at 144 pounds.
She signed with Iowa in the program's first recruiting class. She won the U20 World Team Trials in 2022 and placed fifth at the U20 World Championships in Sofia at 65 kg, about 143 pounds.
On March 9, 2024, in Cedar Rapids, she pinned Aine Drury of King University to win the 143-pound title at the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships. She went 37-3. She placed fourth at the 2024 Olympic Team Trials and tenth at the U20 World Championships in Pontevedra.
She was 30-3 the next season and took third at 145 pounds at the 2025 NCWWC tournament. In 2025-26 she went 36-1 and won the NCAA Region V title. On March 7, 2026, in Coralville, Iowa, she reached the first NCAA women's final at 145 pounds and lost by fall at 2:26 to Bella Mir of North Central. She is a three-time All-American.
On June 19, 2026, at Final X in Newark, she won the 65 kg true-third match over Emma Bruntil of the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club by forfeit. The win put her on the Senior National Team. In July she won 65 kg gold at the Ranking Series event in Budapest, beating Jennifer Page of the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club 7-1 in the final.
She is a redshirt senior at Iowa, training with the Iowa Women's Wrestling Club, and holds the No. 3 spot on the U.S. ladder at 65 kg for the 2026-27 season.
