Piper Fowler was born in Cleveland, Tennessee, on March 23, 2007, and helped start the girls wrestling team at Cleveland High School. She finished her four years there 93-0 with 90 pins and won four Tennessee state titles without a loss. Her teams won three state championships and placed third once. She was named Outstanding Wrestler at the 2024 state tournament.
She won the Super 32 in 2022 and a Junior Nationals title in 2023. That August, at 16, she went to the U17 World Championships in Istanbul and won all four of her matches. She shut out Ako Uchiyama of Japan 6-0 and took a 13-0 technical fall over Laia Horta Gallardo of Spain. She beat Aliaksandra Kazlova, competing as an Individual Neutral Athlete, 10-2 in the semifinals and held off Lotta Englich of Germany 5-2 in the final. She went back to the U17 Worlds in Jordan in 2024 and placed seventh.
In 2025 she was the national winner of the Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Award, which goes to the country's most outstanding senior girls wrestler. She enrolled at William Penn University in Iowa.
As a true freshman she went 31-4 and won the 2026 NAIA national title at 180 pounds as the fourth seed, pinning all four opponents inside the first period. She stopped top seed Reka Busa of Life University in 2:30 in the semifinals and Andjela Prijovic of Grand View in 1:09 in the final. She had 16 falls and 11 technical falls that season and took WIN Magazine's Women's Schalles Award as the top pinner in women's college wrestling.
That April she won the U20 World Team Trials in Spokane over Jael Miller of the Cardinal Wrestling Club, then placed fifth at the U20 World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia, in August 2026. She then transferred to Iowa State as the first athlete to sign with the Cyclones' new women's wrestling program.
She wrestles at 180 pounds for Iowa State, the first athlete to sign with the Cyclones' new women's wrestling program, and trains with the Cyclone Regional Training Center.
