Kayla Miracle wrestled on the boys' team at Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana. As a sophomore in 2012 she went 42-5 at 106 pounds and placed fourth at the regional. At the Merrillville semistate she won a 17-0 technical fall and a 10-0 decision, lost by a point in the semifinals and finished fourth, becoming the first girl to qualify for the IHSAA state finals. At state she lost her first-round match 4-0 to Hayden Lee of Garrett. That same year she won U17 world silver at 56 kg in Baku.
At Campbellsville University, coached by her father Lee Miracle, she won WCWA national titles in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. In 2018 she pinned Desiree Zavala of Grays Harbor in the final to clinch Campbellsville's first WCWA team title, 196.5 to 191.5 over Simon Fraser. She became the fourth woman to win four WCWA titles, after Helen Maroulis, Victoria Anthony and Emily Webster.
She won U20 world bronze at 59 kg in 2014 and 2016. At the senior level she won the 2019 Pan American Games at 62 kg in Lima and placed eighth at the 2019 World Championships. At the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 she lost her round of 16 match to Long Jia of China 3-2 and placed 12th. She won world silver at 62 kg in Oslo in 2021 and again in Belgrade in 2022, losing the 2022 final to Nonoka Ozaki of Japan 10-0. She placed 14th at the 2023 World Championships.
She won the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials over Macey Kilty. At the Paris Olympics she placed seventh at 62 kg, beating Nesrin Bas of Turkey 12-2 before losing 6-6 on criteria to Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan.
In 2026 she moved up to 65 kg, won the U.S. Open, and beat Jennifer Page 7-2 and 5-1 at Final X on June 19 in Newark to make her fifth Senior World Team.
She lives in Phoenix, Arizona, wrestles for Titan Mercury WC, and is a volunteer coach at Valiant College Preparatory. She is on the 2026 U.S. Senior World Team at 65 kg for the world championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.
