Jentri Porter, from Leoti, Kansas, was the first girls' wrestler at Wichita County. She was the only member of its girls program when it started in the 2022-23 season. That first year the team had no full girls schedule, so she practiced against Wichita County's boys.

As a freshman she won a Class 4-1A regional title at 105 pounds with a fall over Alissa Cowing of Clay Center. At the Class 4-1A girls' state tournament in Salina she lost the third-place match by fall to Payton Burton of Bluestem and finished fourth. She closed the season 21-5.

As a sophomore she lost a state quarterfinal to Harper Holmes of Frontenac, then won every match on the consolation side. She beat Veronica Greene of Cimarron 3-1 for third place and finished the season 40-4.

As a junior, now in Class 3-2-1A, she beat Jacynn Boeken of Sterling 7-4 in the quarterfinals and lost the semifinal 6-0 to Reagan Neal of Bluestem. She beat Boeken again, 8-5 in sudden victory, for a second straight third-place finish and a 37-8 record.

In her senior season she won the Scott City Invitational at 105 pounds in January 2026. By state she had won nine tournaments, including her regional, where a late takedown gave her an 8-7 win over Bristol Copple of Minneapolis in the final. She entered the girls' state tournament in Hays. She won a fall and two major decisions, the last 14-0 over Maicey Marrs of Bluestem in the semifinal. In the final she beat Nora Mitchell of Rossville 8-3, scoring an escape and a takedown in the second period and again in the third.

She finished her senior season unbeaten with more than 100 career wins as a four-time state placer. Wichita County's first girls' state wrestling champion, she is now a freshman on the Friends University competitive cheer team.
