Jenna Gerhardt is from Devils Lake, North Dakota. In February 2022 the NDHSAA held its first girls' individual state wrestling tournament, at the Fargodome. Wrestling at 105 pounds for Devils Lake High School, she won by fall and by a 17-0 technical fall to reach the final.
In the final she pinned Anna White of Central Cass in 44 seconds. The title finished an undefeated season. She was one of the first 14 girls to win an NDHSAA individual state championship. The NDHSCA named her its girls' wrestling senior athlete of the year.
She graduated in 2022 and joined the University of Jamestown's women's team. She also registered as a wrestling official. On February 18, 2023, she and Dana Henry of Bismarck refereed at the first NDHSAA girls' team dual state tournament. The NDHSAA called it the first time female referees had worked one of its girls' wrestling state tournaments.
A week later she placed second at 109 pounds at the KCAC Championships in York, Nebraska. She won two matches by 10-0 technical fall before Markayla Lottie of Avila pinned her in the final. In March she went 0-2 at the first NAIA Women's Wrestling National Championships, which Jamestown hosted.
As a sophomore she placed fourth at 116 pounds at the 2024 KCAC Championships. She then transferred to Dickinson State. In 2025 she placed fourth at 110 pounds at the Heart of America Conference Championships and won two matches at the NAIA Championships.
As a senior she placed third at the Battle of the Rockies in Great Falls, Montana. In February 2026 she was runner-up at 110 pounds at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament in Oskaloosa, Iowa. At the NAIA Championships in Kansas, she beat Diana Gonzalez of Life 4-0, then lost to Kayla McNatt of Arizona Christian and Chloe Brewis of Hastings. Dickinson State said she concluded her college career at that tournament.
She is North Dakota's 2022 recipient of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame's Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Award.
