Destiny Rodriguez started wrestling at age seven in West Linn, Oregon. On June 18, 2019, in Budapest, she won the U15 World title at 66 kg, about 145 pounds, pinning Iryna Zablotska of Ukraine in the final. That July she won the 16U women's freestyle national title in Fargo at 144 pounds, pinning Kayley Rada of Michigan in 50 seconds.
As a West Linn freshman she wrestled boys in duals and had pinned all 13 girls she faced in the first period by early February. On February 29, 2020, in Portland, she pinned Fatima Albarran of Bend for the OSAA girls' state title at 145 pounds.
The OSAA held no state tournament in 2021, so her sophomore title came at the Oregon Wrestling Association championships in June 2021 at Cottage Grove. That July in Fargo she won the Junior national title at 144 pounds, beating Reese Larramendy of Nevada 13-3 in the final.
In 2022 at Culver she pinned Madi Randels of Tualatin for the 155-pound title. At the U20 Worlds in Sofia, Bulgaria, that August she lost her opening match at 68 kg to Laura Godino of Italy. On February 26, 2023, she pinned Lauraine Smith of Hood River Valley in 46 seconds. She became the first four-time girls' champion since the OSAA sanctioned the sport in 2018.
At McKendree she wrestled at 155 pounds as a freshman and reached the U20 national final at 68 kg in April 2024. Caitlyn Davis of Southern Oregon beat her in two matches. In July 2024 she won the U20 Pan American title in Lima, pinning Vanessa Keefe of Canada in the final. For 2025-26 she moved to 180 pounds. At the first NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships in March 2026 she beat Isabella Renfro of Fort Hays State in the semifinal. Kylie Welker of Iowa won the final 11-0, and McKendree won the team title.
