Cydney Davis first wrestled as an eighth grader in El Paso and joined Bel Air High School the next fall. She placed third at 152 pounds at the Texas UIL Class 5A state tournament as a freshman in 2023.

As a sophomore in February 2024 she went 48-0 and won her first state championship, pinning Arayla Archie of Amarillo High at the 5:38 mark. The University Interscholastic League listed 48 wins as the Class 5A single-season record, and she became the first Bel Air wrestler to win two Region I titles. She broke her own mark as a junior with 52 wins and a second title. The only loss of her last three seasons came at the Las Cruces tournament, to Eloise Woolsey of Cleveland, New Mexico.

Her senior run was 57-0. At the Berry Center in Cypress she won her first two matches by fall in 24 and 26 seconds. She pinned Layla Hines of Leander Glenn in 1:57 in the semifinals. Then she stuck Londyn Jefferson of Frisco Heritage in 47 seconds for the 155-pound title. She was named Class 5A Outstanding Wrestler, and Bel Air placed third as a team. Her three-year total came to 157-1.

She was runner-up at the 2025 U.S. Open Girls Showcase, beating Sarah Henckel of Blair Academy 5-4 along the way. She carried a 3.9 grade point average and was active in the National Honor Society, student council and DECA. The Texas High School Wrestling Coaches Association named her the 2026 Class 5A Girls Wrestler of the Year, and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame gave her the Texas Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Award. She is now a freshman at Texas Woman's University.

She wrestles for Texas Woman's University, where she is studying psychology.
