Amit Elor was born January 1, 2004, in Walnut Creek, California, and wrestled for College Park High School in Pleasant Hill. As a freshman she won the 2019 CIF girls' state title at 150 pounds on February 23, 2019, with five pins in a combined 2:19. That August she took U17 World bronze at 69 kg in Sofia. It stayed her only international loss through 2023.
In 2021 she won the U17 World title at 69 kg in Budapest and the U20 World title at 68 kg in Ufa. In 2022 at 72 kg she won U20 gold in Sofia over Anastassiya Panassovich of Kazakhstan 10-0. On September 15 in Belgrade she beat Zhamila Bakbergenova of Kazakhstan 10-0 in 1:13 for senior gold, becoming the youngest U.S. senior world champion at 18. She finished the year with U23 gold in Pontevedra over Wiktoria Choluj of Poland 11-0.
She repeated all three in 2023. She won U20 gold in Amman over Bukrenaz Sert of Turkey 11-0 and senior gold in Belgrade over Davaanasan Enkh Amar of Mongolia 8-2. U23 gold in Tirana over Jyoti Berwal (UWW) 10-0 was her eighth world title.
At 68 kg she swept Forrest Molinari 6-0 and 2-1 at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials on April 20, 2024. On August 6 in Paris she beat Meerim Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan 3-0 in the final. At 20 she was the youngest American wrestler to win Olympic gold.
In 2025 she returned to 72 kg and won the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in Louisville, 2-1 over Skylar Grote, but withdrew from Final X in June for health reasons she described publicly. Her son was born in early 2026. On May 15, 2026, she pinned Precious Wieser to win the Challenge Tournament in Louisville. She made the 2026 U.S. World Team at 72 kg on June 19 when Alexandria Glaude forfeited both Final X matches.
Member of the 2026 U.S. Senior World Team at 72 kg, training with the New York City RTC and Titan Mercury WC, entered for the 2026 World Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, October 24 to November 1.
