Amit Elor is a U.S. freestyle wrestler from Walnut Creek, California, and the 2024 Olympic champion at 68 kg, about 150 pounds, the youngest American wrestler to win Olympic gold. As a College Park High School freshman in Pleasant Hill, she won the 2019 CIF girls' state title at 150 pounds with five pins in a combined 2:19. That August she took U17 World bronze at 69 kg in Sofia, Bulgaria. Her 3-1 semifinal loss to Honoka Nakai of Japan was still her last loss when she won Olympic gold.
In 2021 she won the U17 World title at 69 kg in Budapest and the U20 World title at 68 kg in Ufa, Russia. In 2022, at 72 kg, she won U20 gold in Sofia. On September 15 in Belgrade she beat Zhamila Bakbergenova of Kazakhstan 10-0 for senior world gold, the youngest U.S. senior world champion at 18. U23 gold in Pontevedra, Spain, followed.
She repeated all three in 2023, beating Bukrenaz Sert of Turkey 11-0 for U20 gold in Amman and Davaanasan Enkh Amar of Mongolia 8-2 for senior gold in Belgrade. U23 gold in Tirana, 10-0 over Jyoti Berwal (UWW), was her eighth world title.
At 68 kg she swept Forrest Molinari 6-0 and 2-1 at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials on April 20, 2024. In Paris she won four matches, beating Meerim Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan 3-0 in the August 6 final.
In 2025 she returned to 72 kg and won the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in Louisville, 2-1 over Skylar Grote. She withdrew from Final X that June, citing health reasons. Her son was born in 2026. On May 15, 2026, in her first competition since that win, she pinned Precious Wieser to take the tournament again. On June 19 she made the 2026 U.S. World Team at 72 kg, winning both Final X rounds by forfeit after Alexandria Glaude withdrew.
She trains with the New York City RTC and Titan Mercury WC and goes after her third senior world title at the World Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, October 24 to November 1.
